The surface cooler can effectively avoid the oxidation of heat transfer oil to a certain extent. As the heat carrier, the heat transfer oil is prone to oxidation reaction under high temperature operation, resulting in oil deterioration. Therefore, nitrogen charging protection should be carried out in the high temperature expansion tank to ensure the sealing of the system, avoid contact with air and prolong the service life of hot oil.
When the oil temperature of the heat conducting oil exceeds the allowable temperature, the coking phenomenon will appear on the oil pipe wall of the surface cooler. Once the coking layer is generated, the heat displacement will be affected, resulting in the high wall temperature of the oil pipe, the coking situation will worsen, and the explosion accident may occur.
The surface cooler should strictly control the temperature of heat transfer oil, which should not exceed the higher service temperature, and the higher film temperature of heat carrier should be less than the allowable film temperature.
